Building servers from scratch, assembling custom platforms and getting faulty hardware running again — including socket damage and RMA handling.
Not every server arrives ready to run. Part of the work is bringing together components that were never meant as a set, and getting written-off hardware running again.
Builds from scratch
From loose components to a running machine: motherboard, CPUs, memory, storage, cooling and power. Compatibility is checked up front — memory that fits but will not run at speed is easy to catch now and expensive to catch later.
Custom platforms
Configurations the vendor does not sell as a build: unusual storage layouts, extra expansion cards, adapted cooling. First work out whether it can be done, then build it.
Repairing socket damage
Bent pins in an LGA socket are the classic reason a motherboard gets written off. In many cases they can be straightened under magnification, after which the board posts again. When it cannot be saved, you hear that — no hours billed on a lost board.
RMA handling
Faulty parts go back with the evidence the vendor needs: serial numbers, the error, what was tested and ruled out. That saves the back-and-forth that otherwise stretches an RMA into weeks.
